Vandals sabotage Flow underground cables in Corporate Area

Danielle Savory, Senior Manager of Communications at Flow

Vandals have again targeted critical infrastructure belonging to telecommunications company Flow.

The perpetrators have tampered with underground cables in the Corporate Area, which provide service to thousands of customers.

Danielle Savory, Flow Senior Communications Manager, says the damage has significantly impacted businesses and residential customers in areas like New Kingston and Half Way Tree.

"This is the busy Christmas season and, of course, a time when we are also working to recover several areas of the island in terms of getting connectivity restored, and so today's incident really has taken away from our ability to continue to do that while also causing major inconvenience for several persons," she lamented.

Ms. Savory urged anyone with information that can help with the investigations into this matter, to call Flow's helpline at 876-922-HELP (4357), or contact the police.

"Our teams have been on the ground and we are working to have services restored in the shortest possible time," she promised.
