A 55 year old vendor was shot dead in the Buff Bay Market in Portland on Saturday.
He has been identified as Patrick Brown of Willodene, St. Catherine.
His 45 year old wife was injured in the incident.
It's reported that about 10pm gunmen entered the market as the couple was packing up to leave and made demands of them.
The gunmen, who opened fire, escaped in a motorcar.
The couple was taken to hospital where Brown was pronounced dead.
The couple was selling in the market for more 20 years.
