Venezuela threatens T&T and Guyana as US tensions escalate

Venezuela has warned Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana of retaliatory reaction if the country is attacked by the United States.

The pronouncement was made following the immediate termination of any contract or negotiation that involves the supply of gas to Trinidad.

Venezuela's Minister of Interior Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, says it was a sovereign decision in the face of Trinidad's complicity with the United States, warning that Venezuela's homeland will respond to any aggression against its people.

He restated that Trinidad has lent its territory for the covert military operations carried out by the US in the Caribbean, violating international law.

However, Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar dismissed the Venezuelan government's accusation that the that T&T colluded with the US in the seizure of its oil tanker as false propaganda.
