The police in Antigua and Barbuda Friday
questioned eight persons one day after two women appeared in court on charges
connected to the murder of two British people while on honeymoon in the twin
island nation.
Police Commissioner Gary Nelson confirmed that police were questioning the suspects in connection with the murders of Benjamin and Catherine Mullany who were shot while on their honeymoon at a hotel on the island's southwest coast on July 27.
The woman, a medical practitioner died instantly while her husband died a week later after being flown to Wales for further medical treatment.
Thursday, the police said two women appeared in court to face charges of murder.
Eight detectives from Britain's Scotland Yard have been assisting local law enforcement officials in seeking to solve the case.
