Expectations raised for a Sandals hotel in Tobago

Prime Minister of Trinidad & Tobago Stuart Young is hopeful that Tobago a hotel will be built in Tobago soon, follwoing talks with Sandals Resorts International.
 
Chairman of Sandals Adam Stewart met with stakeholders in Tobago on Monday after being invited to make a presentation on a potential investment there.
 
Prime Minister Young said there was a unanimous agreement to "roll out the red carpet" for the hotel chain.
 
He said there is no timeline for a response to be forthcoming from the Sandals team.
 
A previous attempt to have the resort chain set up a property in Tobago was shelved after significant local pushback.
