First ferry service between US and Bahamas

Baleària Bahamas Express and the Capo group, has announced the first ferry service between mainland America and the Bahamas.

The high-speed vessel, christened 'Pinar del Rio', operates daily except Wednesday, between Fort Lauderdale and Grand Bahama, a distance of 756 miles.

The journey reportedly takes 2 ½ hrs .

The ferry accommodates 463 passengers.

People who decide to use the ferry require a valid passport and are allowed up to two pieces of hand luggage at no extra charge
