Jamaica-based Hazardous Substances Regulatory Authority will commence its first capacity-building programme in St. Lucia in January 2025, as part of its mission to strengthen safety systems and foster collaboration across the CARICOM.
HSRA Director General, Dr. Cliff Riley, says one of the things that the authority is focusing on is sharing that level of knowledge and expertise with sister countries throughout CARICOM.
He says in January, the Authority will start its first set of capacity-building engagements in St. Lucia, to ensure that the country's systems are strong and robust and have the technical competencies to be internationally recognised, similar to the HSRA.
