The US Virgin Islands' Department of Health, over the weekend, confirmed its first positive case for Zika virus in a 39-year-old male on St Thomas.
The department anticipates additional cases will be confirmed as new lab results return from the Centres for Disease Control.
To date, 243 total samples have been received from St Thomas and the St John district.
Of these, 45 were received from individuals showing symptoms.
The Health Department received test results for nine samples.
Two of those were positive for dengue, one positive for Zika and the remaining six were negative.
