Asafa Powell is set to return to action, six days after pulling out of his opening individual race of the season.
The two-time world 100 metres bronze medalist says he will run the 100 metres this Friday at the Doha diamond league meet in Qatar, after a groin injury ruled him out of the 200 metres at Saturday’s Jamaica invitational meet in Kingston.
Olympic champion Usain Bolt opened with 9.82 seconds on Saturday, while world champion Yohan Blake did 9.90 three weeks ago, but Powell is not concerned. Powell and his MVP team mates are scheduled to leave the island for Qatar on Tuesday.
