Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Jordan Forte

Reigning world 200m champion Noah Lyles, world 400m record holder Wayne van Neikerk, 100m hurdles world record holder Tobi Amusan and a host of Jamaican athletes are looking to produce impressive performances at Saturday’s 5th staging of the Racers Grand Prix at the National Stadium.

Radio Jamaica Sports caught up with some of the athletes who will be in action as they went through their final preparations at the National Stadium on Friday.

Meanwhile, Organizing Committee member with responisbility for promotion and production Dennis Gordon says a precautionary step was taken on Friday to protect the athletes at the National Stadium.

Images emerged with the athletes running in the concessionaire area indoors instead of on the track on Friday during the heavy morning showers.

Meanwhile, Gordon is urging fans to brave the weather and turn out for the event that is set to start at 6:00 pm on Saturday.
