Bobsled wait continues at Winter Olympics

The nation is still bracing for Jamaica's 2-man bobsled team which gets into action on Sunday February 16 at the 22nd Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

Driver Winston Watts says the team is practicing well, they harbour no fear of travelling down the icey slope at high speed, and added the team is looking to distinguish itself in competition.

Watts has Marvin Dixon as his brakeman.

One of the most watched events on Wednesday's schedule was the women's hockey match between rivals Canada and the United States. Canada won 3-2 including a controversial goal, as Canada's Meghan Agosta-Marciano celebrated her birthday by scoring two goals and delivering an assist.

The teams are likely to meet again for the gold medal match on February 20, once they win the remainder of their fixtures.

Norway continues to lead the medal table with 12 medals, including 4 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze ahead of Canada on 10 medals - 4 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze; The Netherlands are in third on 10 medals - 4 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze; The USA is fourth with 9 medals - 3 gold, 1 silver and 5 bronze while host country Russia also has 9-medals but with 2 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze.

Action continues on Thursday February 13 in Biathlon, Cross Country Skiing, Freestyle Skiing, Luge, Short Track and Speedskating of the 15 disciplines.
