Jamaica and West Indies player Nkrumah Bonner says he was pleased with his execution with the bat on day one of the second test against Bangladesh in Dhaka.

At stumps, the Caribbean side reached 223-5 after electing to bat, with  Bonner leading the way with an undefeated 74.

Bonner who is scoring his second half century of the series, is being supported by Joshua da Silva who is not out on 22. Skipper Kraigg Brathwaite 47, John Campbell 36, Shane Moseley 5, Kyle Mayers 5 and Jermaine Blackwood 28, were the wickets to fall on the day.

Taijul Islam and Abu Jayed have taken two wickets each for the home side. Bonner says he is hoping the West Indies can get a first innings total above 300.

The only change the West Indies made to their squad from the first test was the inclusion of Alzarri Joseph, who came in for Kemar Roach. The West Indies lead the two match series 1-0. Earlier in the tour, Bangladesh won the ODI series 3-0.
