Jamaican-based Canadian sprinter Brendon Rodney has expanded his involvement at GC Foster College with the launch of the Brendon Rodney Excellence Scholarship.
He has partnered with the High Commission of Canada in Jamaica and the Rodney's Life Beyond Sports Foundation to get his latest project off the ground.
This collaborative initiative aims to provide educational opportunities and support to students at the GC Foster College where Rodney is a part-time lecturer and professional athlete with the Maurice Wilson-led Sprintech Track Club.
The three students who have been awarded the scholarships in recognition of their outstanding achievements and committment to academic excellence are Shantel Munroe, Selvin Stewart and Toni-Ann Lindsay who are all pursuing various degrees at the college.
The launch and presentation of the scholarships took place on Tuesday at the High Commission of Canada in Jamaica.
