Chris Gayle signs with Western Australia for summer T20

West Indies Captain Chris Gayle has signed with Western Australia for this summer's domestic Twenty20 competition.

Gayle, one of the biggest and cleanest hitters in the game, has taken a particular liking to Twenty20 Cricket and has plundered 454 runs at a phenomenal average of 41.27, while also snaring seven wickets at 27 a piece.

Gayle was sought out after recently retired batsman Adam Gilchrist could not be persuaded to play another season.

Gayle's move follows on the heels of Dwayne Bravo who joined Victoria for the Australian KFC Twenty20 competition.

This competition falls between West Indies' test and one-day series in Australia.
