Clarke weighs in on Jamaica's Olympic men's 4x400m qualifying pursuit

Olympians Danny McFarlane, Davian Clarke and Gregory Haughton believe Jamaica's mile relay teams need to participate in more regional events to improve their output.

The Jamaican men's 4x4 team is in a predicament where they missed out on an automatic spot in Paris after failing to make the final and finishing outside the top two in the second round final at the recent World Relays in Nassau, Bahamas.

Jamaica's 2 minutes 59.34 from the 2023 World Championships in Budapest, sees them sitting one place outside of the top 16 countries which will field a team in Paris.

Clarke who garnered multiple relay medals, says the teams are not adequately prepared for high level competition.

Zambia is currently in the final qualifying spot, based on time, with 2 minutes 59.12 seconds, while France is the other qualifier based on time with 2 minutes 58.45.

The nation has until June 30 to qualify its men's 4x400 metre team for the games in Paris.
