The winning class one boys and girls sprint relay teams of Manchester High and Herbert Morrison received their winning prize of 60-thousand dollars from the organisers of the Camperdown Classic on Thursday.
The Manchester boys had clocked 41.76 seconds to win, while Herbert Morrison technical took the girls equivalent in 45.78.
Chairman of the Camperdown Classic Cynthia Cooke says the second and third placed teams in both the sprint relays also received 25 and 15 thousand dollars respectively.
The boys of Jamaica College and the girls St. Jago High received the trophies for finishing as the top schools at the meet which was staged on February 11.
Pole vaulter Xavier Boland of Kingston College who set a new record of 4.60 metres and sprinter Peta-Gay Williams of Camperdown, who clocked 11.80 seconds collected trophies for being the most outstanding athletes of the meet.
