Cricket West Indies Medical Director Dr Akshai Mansingh says he anticipates that there will be bubble fatigue during the current COVID-19 pandemic as countries resume domestic and international cricket.
Due to the pandemic, traveling players are required to complete a quarantine period before they will be allowed to integrate with each other.
But with more and more franchise leagues resuming and international cricket returning, this period can become stressing on players with several withdrawing from the ongoing Big Bash League in Australia.
Mansingh says while he understands that moving from bubble to bubble can be difficult on players, there is no other solution at this time.
Mansingh says he does not see the International Cricket Council (ICC) making a decision to create a window of inactivity to give players the chance to recover from bubble fatigue.
