Defending champions through to Under-14 cricket semi-finals

Defending champions Innswood High are through to the semi finals of the ISSA Jackie Hendriks Under-14 cricket competition following a 58-run win over Norman Manley High.

Innswood first totalled 110 with Kevin Peterson scoring 38 and Carlos Brown 29 against Kamal Ellis 5-38 and Kieshaun Sinclair 3 for 41.

Norman Manley were then blown away for 52 with Peterson taking 6 for 32 and Oneil Weir 2 for 14. Shane Spence topscored with 21 and female cricketer Mishka Wright scored 8.      

Innswood will meet Excelsior in one semi final, which is a repeat of last year's final.  

Excelsior defeated Calabar by 25 runs in their quarter final.

Raewin Senior 77 and Okache Brown 29, steered Excelsior to 151 all out against Sachin Simms 7 for 40.   

Calabar who were set 152 to win, were bowled out for 127. Jason Shelly got 36 and Bryan Brown 34 against Senior who bagged 6 for 66 and Rohan Beadle 3 for 34.   

St. Georges College are also through to the last four as they beat Jamaica College by 14 runs.

Jordae Seymour's 25 was the top score in St. Georges College's 109 as Razak Williams snared 7 for 44.

JC were then dismissed for 95 against Kirk McKenzie 4-39 and Johnai Brown 4-50.       

Meanwhile, Wolmer's secured the other semi final spot after beating Spanish Town High by 95 runs.

Matthew Francis 39, Shemar Simpson 35 and Kye McKetty 34, led Wolmer's to 214 for 8. Shamar Talbert claimed 4 for 63. 

Faiz Reid 5 for 26 and Micheal Meggs 2 for 21 then combined to dismiss Spanish Town High for 119.  

Leonard Lewis scored 31 and Talbert 22. The semi finals are set for Friday.
