Fowler-Nembhard produces perfect shooting but Fever lose SSN Grand Final

Despite a perfect shooting performance from Sunshine Girl and 5-time league MVP Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard, her team West Coast Fever suffered a nail-biting 59-58 loss to the Melbourne Vixens in Saturday's Suncorp Super Netball League Grand Final.

Fowler-Nembhard scored 50 goals from as many attempts, while fellow Sunshine Girl Shanice Beckford weighed in with 4 from 4. The Vixens led the first three quarters, while the Fever outscored them 15 - 11 in the final stanza.

The Fever had entered the game as heavy favourites on the back of 13 consecutive victories. It was the Vixens' second championship success since the league's inception in 2017.

The win marked the perfect ending for the Vixens' coach Simone McKinnis who will depart the club after 13 years at the helm.
