Half centuries for Holder and Da Silva in Windies warm-up match

The West Indians reached 283-9 in their first innings at stumps on day one of their 3-day tour match against a South African Invitational X1 in Benoni.

Joshua da Silva was 54 not out at the close. Jason holder has so far top scored with 57, while Roston Chase made 35 and Raymon Refier 33. Jamaica's Jermaine Blackwood made 18, while captain Kraigg Brathwaite fell for 23.

The West Indians are using the match as a warm-up for the first test against South Africa starting on February 28
