Out of favor middle-order batsman Roston Chase guided Jahmar Hamilton's X1 to a three wicket win over Jermaine Blackwood's X1 on the fourth and final day of the Cricket West Indies Best vs Best practice game at the Darren Sammy Cricket Ground in St Lucia.
Resuming Thursday's final day on 218-4 and needing 311 runs for victory, Hamilton's X1 was on the backfoot after losing Paul Palmer Junior for 23, adding just 8 runs to his overnight total.
Top scorer from the first innings, Raymon Reifer could not push-on from his day three tally, adding just 10 runs to be dismissed for 32.
However, Chase who retired hurt on Wednesday on 1, returned to make an undefeated 45 to see the team through to victory at 313-7 with Keron Cottoy the other unbeaten batsman on 19.
Rahkeem Cornwall was the main wicket taker for Blackwood's X1 with 3-99, while Kyle Mayers had 2-36. Scores in the game: Blackwood’s X1-264 and 224, Hamilton's X1 178 and 313-7.
The match was a warm-up for the West Indians ahead of the first test against South Africa starting on June 10.
