Hollins Gives Motivational Speech to Local Basketball Players

Basketball players taking part in the annual Star Search Camp at G.C Foster College were greeted by NBA centre Ryan Hollins on Friday morning.

The 7-foot LA Clippers Centre, who is in Jamaica on vacation, gave a motivational speech to the more than 130 participants who are seeking to gain scholarships through the week-long camp.

Hollins has committed to play for Jamaica, but his paperwork may not come through fast enough for him to join the team for the FIBA Americas championship starting on August 30.

Hollins was a teammate to Samardo Samuels at Cleveland Cavaliers. The 28 year old had been selected in round two of the 2006 NBA draft by the Charlotte Bobcats.

Sam Vincent was the Bobcats head coach at the time.
