Innswood consolidate position atop Group C of Manning Cup

Innswood High School consolidated their victory over St George’s College on Tuesday to stay perfect after five matches in Group "C" of the ISSA FLOW Manning Cup.

The St Catherine based team carved out a 3-2 win over Denham Town at the Edward Seaga Complex on Friday afternoon.

They lead the group on 15 points, three ahead of St George’s who rebounded with a 6-0  demolition of Eltham.

National Under 17 player Alex Marshall scored a four timer to take his tally for the season to seven.

Vauxhall climbed to the top of Group “F” with a 2-1 win over previous leaders Jonathan Grant.

Emelio Rosseou and Tyrone Wilson scored in either half to give Vauxhall a 2-0 lead while Tahj Beckford got Jonathan Grant's consolation in time added.

Vauxhall now have 13 points, one ahead of Jonathan Grant.

Excelsior pumped life into their campaign with a 3-0 nil win over Spanish Town High at the Stadium East Field.

They are now third in the group on 9 points.

Norman Manley are two points behind after stopping Ascot 3-1.

2012 finalists Hydel stayed atop Group “B” with a 4-1 victory over Haile Selassie at Cling Cling Oval.

In the lone Group “A” contest, St Catherine High secured a 1-0 win at Clan Carthy, their first of the season.

The competition continues on Saturday with eight matches.

HITZ 92 FM will broadcast live from the Anthony Spalding Sports Complex featuring Charlie Smith and St Andrew Technical.  

Meanwhile, 35 games will be contested in the ISSA FLOW DaCosta Cup on Saturday.

Among the matches are Herbert Morrisson against William Knibb, Manning's facing Godfrey Stewart, Steths battling Lacovia, Manchester High going for their sixth victory from as many games when they entertain Cross Keys, Port Antonio playing Titchfield and Paul Bogle against Morant Bay.

All games are set to kick off at 3:30 pm.
