ISSA refutes JFF's Monday deadline for investigation report

ISSA has refuted reports that they have been given until Monday, November 10,  to provide local football governing body, the JFF, with a report on their investigation into Wednesday's controversial Manning Cup matches.

ISSA has launched an investigation into how a combined 28 goals were conceded by Jamaica College and Excelsior against Denham Town and Holy Trinity respectively in Wednesday's  Group J Manning Cup matches.

Sixteen were scored against Denham Town by Jamaica College who progressed to the semi-finals on goal difference ahead of Excelsior who drubbed Holy Trinity 12-nil in their quest for the semi-final spot.

But ISSA competition's officer, George Forbes, who has labeled the results as shameful, says contrary to reports ISSA has  not had any directives from the JFF about the matter.

“I can only speak to what I saw in the newspaper, that the JFF is demanding that we give a report by Monday morning. I can say to you that we have not gotten any official communique from the JFF as yet, but of course even without that we are doing our investigation and we are actually (a)waiting the reports from the schools, to make a determination one way or the other,” Forbes noted.

In fact he says ISSA has given the schools a deadline to provide their reports.

“We think that Monday will be a fair time (span) for them to provide their reports,” he added.
