JAAA names 20-member team for Pan Am Games

The Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) has named a 20-member team to the Pan American Games which runs from October 20 to November 5 in Santiago, Chile.

15 men including 2019 World Championships silver medallist Fedrick Dacres will make the trip to the South American country next month.

2018 World Under 18 champion Kai Chang is the other discus thrower named.

2015 World Championships bronze medallist O'Dayne Richards and national record holder Rajindra Campbell will contest the shot put.

World Championships finalist Jaheel Hyde will also make the trip as he will contest his pet event, the 400 metre hurdles.

Christoff Bryan and Lushane Wilson will contest the high jump, Zaavan Richards and Elvis Graham have been selected to contest the javelin throw, while World Champs representative Navasky Anderson is set to contest the 800 metres.

The men's team is completed by Jevaughn Whyte, and Odaine McPherson in the 100 metres and Michael Sharpe and Andrae Dacres in the 200.

Only 5 women have been named as Aisha Praught Leer in the 5,000m, Mickael Moodie in the 100m, Samantha Hall and Adirenne Adams in the discs and Lloydricia Cameron in the shot put will make the trip.

Marlon Gayle, Lamar Richards, Jermaine Hamilton and Orville Byfield are the coaches.

Juliet Parkes is team manager with Dennis May being assistant team manager, while Dr Lincoln Cox will travel as team doctor with Maureen Dawson as massage therapist.
