Jackie Cowan retains JAVA presidency

Jacqueline Cowan has retained the presidency of the Jamaica Volleyball Association (JAVA). She turned back the challenge of media executive Dr Claire Grant by a vote of 22-12 at JAVA's Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday at the offices of the Sports Development Foundation in St Andrew.

Cowan was first elected to the post in November 2020. Incumbent general secretary Audley Weir also turned back the challenge of Cortess Whilby, winning 22-12.

The battle for the post of treasurer saw Fiona Binns prevailing with 21 votes, while Abiola Bertram received 9 votes and Andrew Thomas 4.
