Jamaica's Under 17 team’s opening match against the Leeward Islands Under 17s in the 2-day West Indies Rising Stars Men's Under-17 Championship ended in a draw on Thursday's final day at the Sir Frank Worrell Ground at St Augustine in Trinidad and Tobago.
Chasing an unlikely 257 to win, Jamaica's U17s reached 196-7 in their second innings when the match was called.
Odane Binns top scored with 45, while captain Demarco Scott made 43. Kunal Tilokani took 4-41.
Earlier, the Leeward Islands U17s had posted 286-6 declared in their second innings. Tanez Francis top scored with 83 and shared a 119 run second wicket partnership with Tilokani who made 49. Scott took 3-47 for the young Jamaicans.
Scores: Leeward Islands U17s - 95 and 236-6; Jamaica U17s - 75 and 136-7.
