Jamaica sweeps sprint relays at Athletics Champs in El Salvador

After  winning just one of the four 200 meter finals, Jamaica returned to sweep the sprint relays on Saturday's 2nd day of the Central America and Caribbean Athletics Championships in El Salvador.
     
Entering Sunday evening's final session Jamaica has so far garnered 30 medals consisting of 14 gold, 10 silver and 6 bronze
    
The highlight of the team's performances came in the under-20 boys sprint relay where Odean Skeen, Tyquando Tracey, Senoj-Jay Givans and Jazeel Murphy sped to the equal 2nd fastest tme in the world this year by a junior team, 39.39 seconds.
    
Jevaughn Minzie anchored the boys under-18 team to gold in an impressive 40.17 seconds.
Both teams broke the meet records of 39.77 and 40.83 respectively.
    
The girls under-18 and under-20 teams also secured gold medals in times of 45.53 and 44.51 respectively.
   
The lone individual track gold medal for Jamaica on the night came from Edwin Allen High student Saqukine Cameron who clocked 24.10 in a -1.2 meters per second wind to take the under-18 girls 200 meters.  
    
Shericka Jackson in the girls under -20 and Jevaughn Minzie in the boys under-18 both won silver medals.
Tara Sue Barnett won the girls u-20 discuss throw with 49.62 meters.
   
Tamara Moncrieffe secured the girls triple jump under-18 title with 12.16 meters.
