their campaign in Group B of the
Caribbean CONCACAF Olympic qualifiers in Aruba by drubbing Antigua /Barbuda 6-1.
Troy Smith, Ricardo Cousins and Kearmar Daley gave the Young Reggae Boyz a 3-1 half time lead before Nicholy Findlayson, Eric Vernon and Steven Morrisey sealed the victory.
Jamaica will on Tuesday face Barbados, who on Sunday night defeated hosts Aruba 2-nil, but they may be without Jermaine Taylor, who has a twisted ankle.
Coach Downswell expects a good challenge from Barbados.
Play also started in three other groups Sunday night.
Over in Group C in La Habana, Cuba, Puerto Rico stopped the Cayman Islands 4-nil while hosts Cuba swamped Bermuda 6-nil.
These games were officiated by Jamaican referees David Peterkin and Courtney Campbell respectively.
Group D hosts, St. Kitts & Nevis, ended 1-all with the Dominican Republic at Warner Park in Basseterre.
Group E host, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, were 4:1 winners over Dominica at Victoria Park in Kingstown while, St. Lucia and Grenada ended 3-all.
The four group winners will join the Bahamas and Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean second round that consists of two three-team groups scheduled to play in October 2007.
