Jamaica and Sprintec representative Everton Clarke sped to 6.54 seconds to finish second in the men's 60 meters at the Karlsrue Indoor Meet in Germany on Saturday. Clarke finished behind china's Bingtian Su 6.47 seconds.
Elsewhere, former national junior standout Odaine Lewis was a double winner at the two-day
Texas Tech Indoor Meeting which ended on Sunday in the United States. Lewis, formerly of Cornwall College, leapt a personal best 15.93 meters to win the men's triple jump while he registered 7.80 meters to take the long jump on Saturday.
Former national outdoor champion Javon Francis was 2nd in the men's 400 meters, clocking 47.23 behind American Rashard Clarke 46.88. Another Jamaican, Peter Matthews was 6th in 47.57.
Meanwhile, at the Meyo Invitational Indoor Meet in Chicago, another former Cornwall College standout Ricardo McKenzie competing for Chicago State University, sped to a personal best 6.87 seconds to place 3rd in the men's 60 meters
Former St Jago high standout Ivan Henry was a second place finisher in the college men's 400 meters at the Rod McCravy Memorial Indoor Meet in the United States on Saturday. Henry, running for the University of Kansas, clocked 47.36 seconds for second in the event.
Another former national junior and Holmwood Technical standout Latavia Coombs competing for the University of Kentucky, leapt 5.83 meters for 3rd in the women's long jump.
