Jamaican Olympian Parris-Thymes inducted into LSU Hall of Fame

Two-time Jamaican Olympian Debbie-Ann Parris-Thymes has been inducted into the Lousiana State University's Hall of Fame. Parris-Thymes was a five-time NCAA champion, five-time SEC champion and eight-time All-American on the track at LSU, capturing back-to-back national titles in her specialty event, the 400 hurdles in both her junior and senior seasons.

Parris-Thymes just missed out on individual Olympic medal when she finished 4th in the 400 metre hurdles at the 1996 Atlanta Games, clocking a personal best 53.97 seconds. She was also a semi-finalist in the event at the 2004 Athens Games in Greece.

Now a coach at LSU, she has coached five Olympians, 21 NCAA champions, 29 SEC champions and 35 All-Americans through her 12th and final season on staff in 2017.
