Jamaican born former British heavyweight champion Gary Mason was killed in a cycling accident in England on Thursday.
Mason was hit by a van on a residential road in Wallington, south London and died at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested by police on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.
Mason, 48, was known as a durable, heavy-hitting fighter with a strong chin and fought in 38 professional bouts from 1984 to 1994.
He only lost once, on a seventh-round stoppage against Lennox Lewis at Wembley Arena in 1991.
After retiring from boxing, Mason tried his hand at rugby, playing a handful of matches for London Crusaders but failing to establish himself.
