J’cans finish 3rd & 5th at Doha Diamond League meet

Jamaica's Patricia Hall and Davita Prendergast finished third and fifth respectively in the women's 400 metres as the 2011 International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) Diamond League series started with the Doha meet in Qatar on Friday.

Hall posted a season's best 51.74 seconds while Prendergast, who also had a season's best 52.43 seconds, finished behind American Allyson Felix who clocked a world leading 50.33 seconds to win.

Hall was also third in the 200 metres after clocking 23.16 for third behind American winner Lashauntea Moore 22.83 seconds.

Sprinter Mario Forsythe of the Racers Track Club posted a season's best 20.60 seconds for fifth place in the 200 metres.

Ainsley Waugh of the MVP Track Club was sixth in 20.90 seconds.

The event was won by American Walter Dix in a world leading and meet record 20.06 seconds.
