The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) has refuted claims that experienced striker Darren Mattocks has abandoned the team at the ongoing CONCACAF Gold Cup. The 28 year old mattocks has only played in one game so far at the tournament for the Reggae Boyz when he came on as a late substitute against El Salvador and there were reports he walked out on the team on Monday.
However, team manager Roy Simpson who spoke with RJR Sports explained that Mattocks had left the team to deal with some personal matters and is now back in camp. Since making his debut in 2012, Mattocks has played 43 times for the national team, scoring 17 goals.
