Another near perfect game from Jhaniele Fowler-Reid led the Southern Steel to a 62-57 upset of ANZ League leaders Waikato Bay Magic on Monday.
The Jamaican missed just one of her 42 shots as the steel ended a three match losing streak.
The victory pushed the Steels up to sixth place in the standings but they are not in playoff contention.
Fowler-Reid is set to join the national team in training on June 2 as the Sunshine Girls continue their preparation for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, July 24 to August 3.
Teammate Romelda Aiken whose Queensland Firebirds will be contesting the playoffs, is set to join the Sunshine Girls at a later date.
