Two renowned stakeholders, Professor of Sports Science and Biochemistry at the UWI Mona Campus, Rachel Irving and sports psychologist, Dr Olivia Rose have weighed on the performances of Jamaica's team to the just-concluded Paris Olympics.
With the nation's athletes securing 1 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze, Professor Irving says Jamaica could possibly have had better performances in Paris with more research and preparation by local administrators.
In reflecting on the conditions that the nation's athletes performed under, Professor Irving believes the local administrators dropped the ball.
Meanwhile, Dr Rose, who has had experience touring with various national sporting teams, lauded the performances of the team.
She says fans may have been left disappointed with the medal return of six, because they had become accustomed to the era of double digit returns.
