With uncertainty lingering as to when the Montego Bay Sports Complex will be upgraded, Mayor of Montego Bay, Richard Vernon, is calling for patience.

It's almost a year since a bid was accepted and seven years since the last track and field event was held at the complex.

Eleven months ago, the St James Municipal Corporation opened bidding for the venue, which saw only one bidder, the Montego Bay Multi Sports Development Limited coming forward.

An agreement was signed with the bidder, subject to approval by the Ministry of Local Government. However, months later nothing has been forthcoming.
