Mexico became the first team from CONCACAF to secure a berth at the 2018 FIFA World Cup following their 1-0 win over Panama on Friday. The Mexicans are on 17 points and cannot be surpassed by any three teams.
Costa Rica with 14 points, are a win away from automatic qualification after ambushing the USA 2-0 at the Red Bull Stadium. Caribbean hopeful Trinidad and Tobago are left on the brink of elimination as they were beaten 2-1 by Honduras. The ‘Soca Warriors’ are rooted at the foot of the table on three points with three rounds of matches to go.
