Montego Bay United tops Red Stripe Premier League

Montego Bay United is the new leader of the Red Stripe Premier League following a come from behind 2-1 win over struggling Arnett Gardens at the Tony Spaulding Complex.

Leon Strikland had fired the home team  after 37 minutes but second half goals from Allen Ottey and Leslie St Fluir ensured Mobay moved to the pinnacle on 13 points with only one loss all season.

“Well to be on top of the league, it is quite deserving, Mobay United we have been working well, we have been working hard from pre-season. It’s a bunch of youths, I’d say they are kids, I always refer to them as kids. They have come a far way, they have been together for two-three years now and they are gelling. I have brought good organization to them, more tactical, more discipline in terms of  job is job, we always say that. There are producing, and it is rewarding to see that the work that they have put in, they are reaping the result, and it feels good to be on top of the table”, Duckie said.

Arnett's Jerome Waite was very disappointed to make a losing return in his third stint with the club.

“The game I don’t think it was beautiful but one of the main thing about the team, was the concentration level. And you notice the errors that we made, we end up have to pay for it”, Waite commented.

Boys Town suffered defeat number three of the season as they were beaten 1 - nil by Rivoli United at Collie Smith Drive. Devon Hodges' 21st minute penalty was enough to give the Spanish Town based team three points which moved them above the "Red Brigade" on 8 points.

Champions Harbour View and bottom placed Portmore United ended goal-less.
