Trinidadian spinner Sunil Narine and Vincentian medium pacer Kesrick Williams are facing contrasting immediate futures after both were reported for suspect bowling actions during the recently-concluded Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

Narine’s bowling action has continued to attract attention with the off-spinner cleared to bowl in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) after being reported by the umpires during this year’s CPL.

Narine was also allowed to continue bowling in the CPL after being reported at the end of the 4th round of matches, but was monitored  by experts from Loughborough University in England and  then required to send video footage of his bowling action to the university for further analysis.

According to Guardian Media Sports out of Trinidad, the 32 year old Narine who played five of his team's 12 matches taking six wickets, has been cleared, with the  experts who  monitored him during the tournament noting they found nothing wrong with his action."

Meanwhile, another West Indies bowler, medium pacer Kesrick Williams is yet to be cleared after his bowling was also reported for suspect action at the end of the fourth round of the CPL.

Like Narine, Williams was also allowed to continue bowling while being monitored by experts from Loughborough University  and required to send video footage of his bowling action to the university for further analysis.

However, the 30 year old Williams, who played all 12 matches for the St Lucia Zouks and finished joint third with 13 wickets, has not yet been cleared.

Williams is expected to travel to Grenada to have his bowling action taped and observed with  his Windwards Volcanoes coach, Jamaican Andrew Richardson.
