Odds against Boyz for Panama World Cup qualifier

Having lost seven and drawn seven of their previous 16 encounters against Panama in international football, the odds are stacked against the Reggae Boyz as they look to earn the second Group ‘B’ spot in the fourth round of World Cup qualifiers.

The Winfried Schafer coached team is now in Panama ahead of Friday's match against the home team in Panama City.

The Jamaicans, who have only beaten Panama on two occasions, lost their home match 2-0 against them in November and the support to win is again with the host nation.

The Reggae Boyz have struggled offensively in qualifying so far, and have only won a single game, while losing twice and drawing once.

The team is also set to miss striker Darren Mattocks for this match as the Portland Timbers player is sidelined by a hamstring injury.

Friday's game starts at 8:30 pm Jamaica time.
