Robinson appointed Calabar's new track and field head coach

National throws coach Julian Robinson has been appointed the new head coach of Calabar's track and field team, effective June 1. He replaces Corey Bennett.

A release on Wednesday under the signature of principal, Sian Mahay-Wilson, said the school is confident that Robinson's experience, deep-rooted committment to the Calabar ethos and passion for youth development, will serve the team and school community well, as they begin this exciting new chapter.

Robinson whose coaching career spans over 25 years, has guided several Calabar athletes to success at the national junior and senior levels, as well as global championships, including the likes of Fedric Dacres, Traves Smikle and Kai Chang.
The release also took the opportunity to express gratitude to Corey Bennett for his years of service to the Calabar track and field programme.

Bennett led the Calabar programme for the past three years and guided them to the runner-up spot at this year's ISSA GraceKennedy Boys and Girls Championships.
