Rusea's are 2017 DaCosta Cup champions

Rusea’s High School are celebrating their capture of the 2017 ISSA Flow DaCosta Cup title following their 2-1 victory over favourites Clarendon College in Saturday’s final at the Montego Bay Sports Complex.

In a game of contrasting halves, Clarendon College dominated the first 45 minutes and were rewarded by the prolific striker Nique Daley who gave them the lead in the 36^th minute. However, Rusea’s came out a different team in the second half and eventually drew level through Daniel Reid in the 55^th minute.

Another inform player, Leonardo Fogarthy struck the decisive goal for Rusea’s in the 80^th minute when he curled home a spectacular effort to give the Hanover-based team their 11^th hold on the symbol of rural area schoolboy football supremacy.

Coach Vassell Reynolds who joined Rusea’s in March after leaving Wolmer’s Boys, was lifting his first ever DaCosta Cup crown.
