Russell returns to Windies T20 squad to face South Africa

Andre Russell has been recalled to the West Indies squad for the first two of five T20 Internationals against South Africa in Grenada on Saturday.

Russell has not represented the West Indies since the tour of Sri Lanka prior to the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020.

Russell is one of three Jamaicans in the squad which also has hard hitting batsman Chris Gayle and all-rounder Fabian Allen.

The Caribbean team has not played against the South Africans in a T20 international since the Proteas notched their highest successful run chase of 236-4 in Johanesburg in 2015. The match bowls off at 1:00 pm Jamaica time.
