Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has been confirmed as the assistant to Louis Van Gaal, who was officially announced as United's manager on Monday.
Giggs played his entire professional career at Old Trafford and helped the club to several titles, including 13 EPL crowns and two Champions League titles.
He took charge of United's last three games of the season after David Moyes was fired.
Giggs announced his retirement and is expected to form a good partnership with Van Gaal, who has also won titles with Ajax, AZ Alkmar, Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
“He has got a brilliant reputation, a successful manager in different countries and obviously he has taken The Netherlands to the World Cup, and yes, he has got fantastic pedigree”, Giggs commented.
