The Jamaica Scorpions will host only one match in this season's regional 4-day championship. Cricket West Indies (CWI) announced the schedule on Friday, indicating that the competition to be played over seven rounds between eight teams, will get underway on January 29.
The regional governing body revealed that there will be several changes to the format, including the introduction of a day/night fixture, which will see the use of the pink ball.
CWI also announced that they will return to awarding first innings points for drawn matches.
Teams will be battling for the prestigious Headley Weekes Trophy and an attractive prize of US $250,000 for the champions and US $100,000 for the runners-up.
Reigning champions, the Guyana Harpy Eagles will entertain the Barbados Pride in their opening fixture, while the Jamaica Scorpions will play away to the Windward Islands Volcanoes at Arnos Vale in St Vincent.
