Sprinters Christania Williamson, of Edwin Allen and Kemar Bailey-Cole, of the Racers track club, highlighted day one of the 2-day CARIFTA trials at the Stadium East field.
Williamson sped to an impressive 11.39 seconds to win the under 20 girls 100 metres ahead of Deandre Whitehorne of Vere Technical who clocked 11.56 seconds.
Bailey-Cole posted a smart 10.41 seconds to turn back the challenge of the outstanding Jahzeel Murphy of Bridgeport High (10.51) and Deshawn Jackson of Jamaica College (10.73).
Other highlights saw Brian Smith of Clarendon College turning in the fastest time by a school boy this season over 800 metres, clocking one minute 53.31 secondss to win the under 20 boys event.
Omar McLeod returned 51.86 to win the under 20 boys 400 hurdles ahead of Patrick Campbell of Munro (52.28).
In the field events, 2009 World Youth bronze medalist Traves Smikle of Calabar threw 60.34 metres to win the under 20 boys discus.
Nickeva Wilson of Camperdown leapt 6.19 metres to win the under 20 girls long jump ahead of Chanice Porter of Manchester who leapt 6.16 meters.
