West Indies suffered a devastating nine wicket defeat to host Sri Lanka in their second match at the super eight stage of the ICC World Twenty/20 Championship.
Electing to bat the Windies struggled to 129-5 with top knocks of 50 from Marlon Samuels and 40 from Dwayne Bravo.
Chris Gayle failed to spark as he made just 2.
Ajantha Mendis 2-12 was the pick of the Sri Lankan bowlers.
In reply Sri Lanka raced to 130-1 in 15.2 overs. Captain Mahela Jayawardene top scored with 65 and shared an unbroken 108 run second wicket stand with Kumar Sangakkara who ended not out on 39.
West Indies must now beat New Zealand on Monday to be sure of a semi-final place.
