STETHS & Innswood High retain Headley & Grace Shield titles

St. Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) gained their 24th hold on the ISSA/Grace Headley Cup Cricket title with a massive 363 run win over Tacky High School on Wednesday’s third day of the final at the Alpart Sport Club in St. Elizabeth.

Resuming at 81 for 1 in the second innings, STETHS went on to declare on 258 for 4 with Captain Paul Palmer Jr unbeaten on 104.

Set 419 for victory, Tacky was routed for 55 as Orane Linton finished with 4 for 12 and Cassius Burton Jr 3 for 19 for a match haul of 9 for 34.

Innswood sends Norman Manley packing        

And Innswood High School retained the ISSA/Grace Shield Premier League title with an 8 wicket win over Norman Manley High on the second day of their three day final at the Melbourne Oval in Kingston on Wednesday.

Replying to Norman Manley's 141, Innswood was dismissed for 156 with Marcel Marsh scoring 38 against Kerron Edwards who bagged 6 for 34 and Jamar Lawrence’s 3 for 52.

Faced with a first innings deficit of 15, Norman Manley folded for 100 in their second innings.

Pete Salmon claimed 6 for 38 for a match haul of nine for 75 while Jermaine Bennett took 3 for 26 for total match figures of 7 for 66.

Needing 86 for victory, Innswood got home for the loss of Salmon 29 and skipper Orane Williams 24.

STETHS and Innswood will now prepare for the All Island Spaulding Cup playoff.
