Jamaica's track and field icon Donald Quarrie will be honoured by Team Jamaica Bickle (TJB), the organization that supports Jamaican athletes at the Penn Relays.
The tribute will take place at TJB's annual pre Penn Relay carnival reception, on Tuesday April 12, at Sullivan Hall in New York.
The organization said its decision to honour Quarrie was a fitting response to his outstanding career which included world record and multiple Olympic medal status, in addition to his sterling efforts in administration after his on track experience came to an end.
Quarrie, in his track & field career, won the 200 metres gold and 100 metres silver at the 1976 Olympic Games and 200 metres bronze in 1980.
He also helped Jamaica to silver in the 4x100 metre relay in 1984.
